Replacing the Ratchet Assembly - Model 45R & 101R.

Replacement of the Ratcheting Assembly.

This procedure covers both the Models 45R and 101R Ratcheting Nailers.

The ratcheting mechanism allows the plunger to be struck several times to set just one nail.
To inspect ratcheting mechanism, first remove the two 1/2" screws holding the access plate.
Remove the ratchet access plate.
Remove the ratchet assembly.
Note the pawl on the ratchet faces the inside of the nailer.
Make certain that the pawl on the new ratchet faces the inside of the nailer.
Insert the ratchet assembly with pawl facing the plunger head.
Reinstall the embossed ratchet access plate with raised side facing outward.
Reinstall the two 1/2" screws to secure the access plate.
