DEMONSTRATIONS: |
Let’s go to work! For manual nailing, Powernail offers the
Model 101 Face Nailer that saves time and properly secures the first
strip. Load the Model 101 Face Nailer with 2-inch Powercleats nails for ¾-inch tongue and groove flooring. Hold the flooring strip firmly and… face-nail the board into the sub-floor at every floor joist location. |
Powernail Model 45 Manual Nailer is the best tool to nail the rest of
the flooring. Strike the metal plunger head with the rubber mallet end. Do Not use the metal end of the mallet against the plunger as it will damage the nailing machine. |
| Raise the mallet up over your head and follow through to the plunger head, striking it dead center. One blow of the mallet will "nail and countersink". |
If the nail is not countersunk, use more striking force for good "nail and
countersink". Use the #5 Mi Mallet properly. The rubber end is for racking or snugging up flooring together as tightly as possibly before they are nailed down. Use the metal end of the mallet for tapping end joints. |
Flooring strips are not straight; therefore, use the Powerjack Flooring Jack to snug the boards together, or tap the strips as close to the nailed strip as possible -and stand on the strip to hold it in place for nailing. Use enough striking mallet force as needed to snug up the flooring. If the nail is protruding well above the surface, bend it back and forth to break it off. |
