PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

SOLUTION

Driving blade does not retract!

- zero or low pressure

- check air supply for 90 psi min. to 120 psi max.

 

- lack of lubrication

- manually lubricate through male air inlet fitting.

- excessive dirt inside nailer

- disassemble and clean

- bent driving blade

- replace driving blade

- seals worn out

- replace all seals

- u-cup lip seal installed upside down

- install correctly

- seals need to be seated

- dry fire nailer

PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

SOLUTION

Driving blade retracts slowly!

- low air pressure

- turn up air pressure to  90 - 120 psi max.

 

- air supply restricted by small orifice(s)

- use 1/4" min. diameter air fitting

- lack of lubrication

- manually lubricate through male air inlet fitting

- excessive dirt inside nailer

- disassemble and clean

- u-cup lip seal installed upside down

- install correctly

PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

SOLUTION

Nail is not countersunk!

- low air pressure

- turn up air pressure to 90 - 120 psi max.

 

- broken driving blade

- replace driving blade

- nail hits hard surface

- move from obstruction

- driving blade jam nut came loose

- retighten or replace jam nut

- worn out gate

- replace gate

PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

SOLUTION

Nailer leaks air!

- air supply fittings are loose

- tighten all air line fittings

 

- dry wall dust in nailer

- send in nailer to be rebuilt

- excess air pressure blew out seals

- check air supply for 120 psi  max. and replace all seals

 - plunger screws are loose

- tighten three plunger screws

- cracked or damaged body

- replace body

- seals are worn out

- replace all seals

- seals need to be seated

- dry fire nailer

PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

SOLUTION

Bottom of nailer is cracked off!

- operated without rubber bumper installed

- replace damaged parts

- excessive air pressure is used

- replace damaged parts

PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

SOLUTION

Nails jam in nailer!

- not using powercleat nails

- use powercleat nails only

 

- wrong powercleat nails used

- use proper nail (refer to chart)

- continued use after a short

- cleat nail immediately after

  hit

  short hit

- nail pusher damaged or

- replace nail pusher assembly

  spring is broken

- nail channel loose

- tighten nail channel retaining

  screws

- bent nail stuck in nail guide

- disassemble and clean out nail

- hit another set nail or hard

- move from obstruction

  object.

- nail gate worn out

- replace nail gate

Plunger is locked up!

- plunger and safety yoke

- move safety yoke into top

PROBLEM

SOLUTION

Won't move or fire!

  reassembled incorrectly

  groove on plunger

 

- safety trigger is not being

- replace damaged plunger

  depressed

  safety yoke and plunger seal

- nailer body is being used to

- replace damaged plunger

  rack the wood

  safety yoke and plunger seal

- lack of lubrication

- manually lubricate nailer
